aka, “How to Use the Rowboat Classroom free curriculum”
Welcome Teachers! We are excited that you and your students will be joining us on our expedition: Adventure: Mississippi River (AMR) 2016. Here’s how it works: Once the expedition starts there are curricula that are aligned with the expedition timeline. For example, during any given week there is a module made up of lessons and activities that you can do with your students (see the Education Calendar below). The modules will be enhanced by the expedition narrative via blogging, photos, and video.
Additionally, there are multiple opportunities for you and your students to collaborate and interact with the expedition team. The AMR curriculum is a combination of three documents from national organizations that emphasize water issues, specifically with the Mississippi River, Columbia River, and their associated tributaries. The content is available for download here.
Depending on the grade level, teachers can use the age-appropriate curriculum that is aligned with the expedition. When you use the curriculum, share the experience via the online environment and one of the collaboration opportunities. By doing so, we will create a greater community of learners based on our Great River’s context.
